About

UCI, founded in 1965, is situated between Los Angeles and San Diego and is approximately a 50-minute drive from Los Angeles International Airport. According to a report by the U.S. magazine “Money,” Irvine is one of the top 10 safest cities in the United States. It was meticulously planned by renowned architect William Pereira and has developed into a multicultural business and technology hub. The campus features modern and elegant architecture and is within a half-hour drive of the coast, making it one of the fastest-growing campuses in the UC System.

 

UCI has several specialized libraries, including a main library with 1.5 million volumes, a science library, and a medical center library. It also houses a laser research center, a biological anatomy museum, an atomic reactor, a farm school, and recreational facilities such as swimming pools, fitness centers, athletic fields, dance studios, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a sports arena.
